Songler freezes

Hi Martin,
Songler has not worked since ver 1.4x something on my Vista x64 HTPC computer. I'm currently using the latest version.

Songler works until the point where you choose album from the artist search list, e.g.

I can move the cursor around but not select anything, and the album title/year in the lower right corner do not update.
Spotify (latest ver) works flawlessly on my HTPC so the problem lies not there I think. Is there any way to turn on logging and send you some output file from whats happening?

On my laptop, which is running win7 x64 with the latest Songler and Spotify, it works perfect

Ok, I upload a log file, but since Songler don't crash, just semi-freezes, it might not be of any use. I'm still using the 2.0.1 version btw (OS: Vista x64)

Thanks for reporting the issue. I think there is a memory problem on media center - if you search for an artist with a lot of data, it tends to hand. I am not sure why at the moment but will continue looking in to it. In the meanwhile, you could try searching directly by album name if you know what you want.

Hi Martin,
thanks for the the info. I found that the "Album" and "Song" button worked,i.e. searching for album name or song name. But for me, I search for artist in 99% of the cases.

As you said, it might be a memory issue in WMC Vista (x64 only?) since I manage to find two artists that only had one album apperance (Revis and Sean banan (don't ask)). For both these artists it worked searching using the "Artists" button. Maybe the solution is to be more selective in the data collection from Last.fm from what I see from the log file a lot of data is collected but very little is shown.

I'm also experiencing other issues as the backspace button don't function after some time and the "Song details" window that lies on top of the search stays on top even after doing a new search the old "song details" window is on top (it might be here where the backspace button stop working and I have to use the mouse pointer instead). Moreover, sometimes I can't click anything (can't search, can't click preferences etc) only thing is to exit songler and start it again (it happens after a couple of searches).

One more thing, when I change song, spotify become the active window sometimes (not always...)

If you manage to fix these issues I'm more than willing to donate some €
