No Sound

Postby namxnam » Wed Mar 10, 2010 9:15 pm

Hi

I had this issue with the previous version of Songler and I have just updated to 1.4.1 and it persists.

W7 64, Creative X-Fi Audio Card

I can find artists, albums etc.. in Songler. When I press play there is no sound. Audio works fine in Media Centre, all the 'dings' sound when I press buttons and in the volume mixer no applications have been muted.
I have left a song playing (silently) in case it was a buffering issue...but after 5 mins still no sound. The graphic equaliser 'thingy' starts when I press play to indicate that it should be playing.....but no sound.

Any ideas?

What sort of music are you playing - last.fm or Spotify?

Can you play Spotify music on that PC through the spotify app? That's what the media center app is doing in the background.

I have the exact same problem. Spotify works fine and is running in the background. The music I choose to play also plays fine in Spotify.

So, if you go to the spotify PC app, you can play music and hear it fine, but if you use Songler, you don't hear anything?

Do you even see spotify open when you pick the music in songler?

I also had pretty much similar problems with sound; I was able to play Spotify music through the Spotify app without problems, but when playing Spotify through Songler, there was no sound. On the background Spotify gave error: “There is a problem with your sound card. Spotify can’t play music. “ Changing default audio format in sound card settings fixed the problem. This post probably comes late, but have you guys tried it? In my case (Win7 32 bit running on AsRock ION 330 HT-BD with Realtek sound card) all the other default audio format settings work, except DTS interactive (5.1 Surround) with Songler.
I’m just wondering whether there are any other ways to solve the problem. I would like to keep DTS as default audio format.

Otherwise Songler is very nice plugin and I finally can use MCE window always on top in my HTPC without need jumping from window to another. Great work, thanks!

Any solution to this problem yet? Does not seem to be any soundcard settings on my side.

Songler with Spotify works fine directly on my laptop but when using Xbox360 as a media extender there is still no sound.

Hey, this sounds like my problem as well. Spotify working, but no sound in Songler.

@ "DonFevik" is your problem the same as described in my topic "Songler freezes"?
