TunerFreeMCE Plugins

TunerFreeMCE has the ability to run content from a variety of different sources, but doesn't cover every site out there. Fortunatly TunerFreeMCE version 3 allows developers to write simple plugins to bring other content in too. To install the plugins, download them from here, and unzip in to your Program Files/MillieSoft/TunerFreeMCE/plugins directory. After installation, update your program list to pick up the new programs.

If you are interested in writing your own plugins, see here for instructions.

  • Andrew Gill  - Sling in the UK

Thanks for the great add-on to tunerfreeMCE.
Just wanted to point out if anyone was wondering, but this add-on works in the UK without a VPN

  • Martin  - Re: Sling in the UK

That's a great tip. Thanks Andrew.

  • Robert

I am in the UK and Sling indicates the video will not play in my region. This makes sense, but is there a way it will please without a USA proxy?

  • Martin

Robert, perhaps they have tightened up the restriction since Andrew's testing. I'm not aware of any way to get US content to play without a US VPN connection.

  • Ron  - vpn

for those of us not in the know, how would one go about getting a us vpn to connect to?

    thanks

  • Andrew Gill

Just done some more testing, and it appears most of it you do need a US vpn, but some programs you can watch without one

  • Frank  - Adding stations from wwiTV.com

I opened the file feed.xml and added the following lines

    5-TV Ukraine
    5_TV_UKRAINE
    http://media.wnet.ua/lists/5tv.asx
    http://5tv.com.ua/img/site/top/logo.gif
    General channel Ukraine

After I installed the new version of TunerFreeMCE, it played the station. The web site wwiTV.com (from The Netherlands) has thousands of streaming stations. Cool!

How do we force TunerFreeMCE to recognize changes in feed.xml without re-installing?

  • Martin  - Re: Adding stations from wwiTV.com

Looks cool. Fancy turning it in to it's own plugin for everyone to share?

You simply press the Update button for it to pick up the new feed content. No need to reinstall.

  • TVCatchup

The link for TVCatchup links to your forum, not to a download. Can this be updated please

  • Martin  - Re: TVCatchup

No, not really. Linking to the forum discussion allows you to always get the latest version from there instead of pointing to a potentially out of date fixed download here.

  • Zargon  - plugin help?

I downloaded the plugins and unzipped them. Each plugin has a config file. The directions say to unzip each plugin into the plugin directory. Obviously if I do this, the config files overwrite each time. What is the correct way to install plugins? Thanks

  • Martin  - Re: plugin help?

    Zargon,

you unzip the whole folder and put it in the plugins directory so that you have plugins/Sling and plugins/TED and so on.

  • Rob  - No channel buttons for plugins

    Hi

Iv installed the plugins for seesaw etc & although when i update the programs are shown there is seesaw etc listed for me to watch the programs. Can you tell me what im doing wrong?

    Thanks

    Rob

  • Martin  - Re: No channel buttons for plugins

    Rob,

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Can you post your issue on the forums with a screenshot?

    Thanks

    Martin

  • Alan  - Seesaw Plugin

I'm having some trouble with the seesaw plugin, if the page is longer than my screen then there is no option to scroll down, is this just me or is there currently no finction for this?

    Thanks, Alan

  • Martin  - Re: Seesaw Plugin

    Alan,

do you mean you have lots of programs and you can't see them all? Move to the right to see them. If that's not what you mean, post a picture to the forums to help describe it.

    Martin

  • Nicholas Polydor  - SeeSaw

FYI, SeeSaw is now out of beta.

  • Nicholas Polydor  - BlinkBox

Also, are there any plans to create a plugin for BlinkBox? It contains some free content that is unavailable on the other services - films, for instance.

  • Martin  - re: SeeSaw

Thanks for the heads up on the SeeSaw beta change. I have updated the text. I think I also need to modify the click positions, which I'll do in the near future.

  • Martin  - Re: BlinkBox

Yes, I might consider a Blink Box plugin. thanks for the suggestion.

  • philnich  - TV Catchup

I may be silly but the TV Catchup download button does not seem to offer a download, rather it goes to a forum about TV Catchup. Where is the download?

  • Martin  - Re:: TV Catchup

The plugin for TV Catchup can be downloaded from the first post in that forum thread.

  • Jason Everett-Brown  - Sling Plugin

Hi, I have added the unzipped sling folder into the plug in directory but it is not showing in the main screen. I have tried the update link but this does not help. Can you help?

  • Martin  - Re: Sling Plugin

    Jason,

sometimes people unzip it one directory too deep so they have plugins/Sling/Sling, which stops it working. If that is the case, get rid of one of the Sling directories.

    Martin

  • Jason Everett-Brown  - Sling plugin

Thanks, its only one directory deep. Do I take it that it should automatically update in the main veiwer?

  • Martin  - Re: Sling plugin

Yes, the channel will appear when you go back in to TunerFree as long as you have put the plugin in the right place. You do need to run the Update program before any programs appear.

  • geo woods  - hd channels for uk

all these plugins are top the play well on windows 7 home prem but it would be exellent if there wer HD channels for free and most people that have windows 7 have a graphics card with HD and if you can get these other plugins why not have the bbci plugin and for folk outside the uk that get hulu they get better programs to watch unless we the people from the uk have to use a vpn acount witch is another cost that for some folk on benefits cant afford it broadband inthe uk isnt that dear for istant you can get virgin media at 10meg for £15 per callender month wich is very cheap or 2meg for £8 per month so people with benefits can enjoy the joys off broadband but would be 10xbetter if there more hd availabilty for windows 7 deose anyone agree with this comment

  • Martin  - Re: hd channels for uk

    Geo,

you can get the BBC programs in HD. Check out the FAQ. You can actually get the hulu programs in HD too, but I agree that VPN isn't cheap if you are watching from the UK. Fortunately hulu are planning on launching in the UK this year too.

  • pcpaz  - Installing TunerFree MCE on non-media center windo

Is there anyway on installing Tunerfree MCE on non media editions of Windows XP Home edition.

    Thanks

  • Martin  - Re: Installing TunerFree MCE on non-media center

No, I'm afraid it doesn't work on XP.

  • john  - Constant talking to internet

Why does your program Always require access to the internet even when it is not running?

Why doesn't it ask permission before it starts to download?

Why isn't there any product name in the details tab? It makes it hard to find whats in use?

  • Martin  - Re: Constant talking to internet

    John,

TunerFreeMCE periodically caches the available program details for fastest performance. It needs to connect to the internet to do that. You can configure how often it does that in the preferences.

It doesn't ask permission before downloading, because that would be incredibly annoying to have popping up in the middle of watching TV.

I have no idea what you mean by the product name in the details tab.
